About this website

This site is a visual and verbal diary of my world. My world is filled with bikes, family and images. I like bikes and I like cameras. I like the way they go together. Joy for me comes when I can capture an image that shows the true feeling of riding. Images here are often experiments and explorations of color, tone and texture. Dreaming, scheming and planning

Kid and M.Dion riding Mukluks on the snow dunes - Duluth, MN

Why is it that the grass is always greener on the other side?  It's hot and humid here in MN and I find myself dreaming of riding in the snow. Just crazy, but right now I have noticed a common theme amongst my bike geek friends. That theme is planning some winter time fatbike fun.

I've got this idea to run one of my Gnat Adventure Rides up in the Duluth area sometime around the first week of March 2012. The pic above was from one of the most amazing days I can remember on the bike. There is nothing like riding snow dunes with the enormous and beautiful Lake Superior on one side and a sandy shoreline on the other.

M.Dion, Meiser and Kid heading upwards on MN's North Shore.

There is a lot more up north than just riding the snow dunes. So much more to do and explore. So....In a let's save the date sort of thing, who's in for the first week of March 2012 for a little fun and fatbike adventure? It won't be the whole week, just 3-4 days preferably midweek (NOT A WEEKEND). For my California friends I just may be able to line up an extra Mukluk or two for you.  One last shot to get you thinking about the possibility and the associated reward.

Ahhh...Rest stop overlooking Lake Superior

Who's in?

I'd be in for that ride provided I can snag a fat bike by then, get it built and all that. It's on my list of "stuff" to be acquired.

If I can work it in with my upcoming adoption, I'd be in too. Need to figure out what I'd ride though... It sounds like a lot of fun.

Nice shots of the ice dunes. I got some good pics there myself w/ some local Ski Hut riders. I carry a Lummix ZS1 everywhere I go. Great point and shoot.
