About this website

This site is a visual and verbal diary of my world. My world is filled with bikes, family and images. I like bikes and I like cameras. I like the way they go together. Joy for me comes when I can capture an image that shows the true feeling of riding. Images here are often experiments and explorations of color, tone and texture. All images property of Gnat Productions. All rights reserved. If you wish to post an image found here on your blog or website, please give full credit to Gnat and please link to www.gnatlikes.com. Cold But Fast

Wow, it's cold.   Still need to ride though.   This cold sure makes the snowy singletrack firm and fast.

More than once I got offline and burried the front wheel in the snow.  I fell several times in the soft and deep snow.  It's interesting how sections that don't seem fast in the summer go quickly in the winter and stuff that is technical and fast in summer are so slow in the winter.

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend.  I'm on my second cup of coffee.   Ahhh......

Why Ride at all in the Winter?

I've been asked many times over the years as to why I ride in the winter?   Why don't you XC ski?   Well....I guess I could.  In fact I actually own skis and occassionally use them.  However, I still like riding bikes more than skiing or whatever winter "sport" you throw at me.  I'm a cyclist.   My bike gives me the freedom I seek.

I think there is just a hint of stubborness too.   Bicycles should be ridden regardless of season.

For all of you that are travelling today and this week, I wish you all safe travels.   I hope you've all been good and that Santa fills your Christmas stockings with bike stuff!
